Agent for United Van Lines: Affiliation with the Best

Gene Anderson started Armstrong Warehouse and Transfer in Lubbock, Texas in 1947. A family-owned company that offers an unwavering focus on expert service, the company is now Armstrong Transportation Services and is an award-winning customer service and safety agent in the respected United Van Lines family.

Gene Anderson saw the early possibilities of United Van Lines years ago, signing a agent agreement in 1947. He worked diligently throughout the years to grow both United and Armstrong, resulting in a solid company partnership that has lasted more than 60 years. Mr. Anderson was elected to the United Van Lines board of directors and served for years in numerous capacities and was the corporation’s treasurer at the time of his death in 1985.

In tribute, United Van Lines renamed their excellence award to the Gene Anderson Excellence Award in honor of a man who always exemplified quality. This award is still given to those within the organization who demonstrate that commitment to quality, and Armstrong is honored to continue his legacy.

Today, Armstrong Transportation Services offers the highest quality of transportation and storage services available, and we are committed to providing a high quality service at a fair price, always exceeding the needs and expectations of our customers. Our vision of providing quality service has continued for more than 60 years. Armstrong has expanded to seven locations across the U.S., with more than 150 team members.

Rick and Jane Anderson lead the company today after gaining valuable experience managing Armstrong’s El Paso office – working diligently to continue Armstrong’s commitment to excellence since being named company leaders in 1985.

Like founder Gene Anderson, Rick is an active board member of UniGroup, serving on numerous committees and subsidiary boards. During his time on the board, Unigroup became a $2 billion annual enterprise with worldwide reach.

Armstrong expanded operations to Colorado in 2003. Along with our El Paso, Austin, Midland, Lubbock and San Antonio operations, the Colorado Springs office has allowed us to expand our quality services including full logistics, self-serve moving containers, and relocation packages.
